Stream of Consciousness

“I have been using kererū for some time now and in recent cutouts the native bird becomes an identity carrier or stage. Here a forest based on Karaka Forest and other Dunedin walks has a stream that I label ‘consciousness’. Stream of consciousness is a literary term, but I use it in relation to working intuitively as an artist.”
