Bunkhouse Garden I

The kennel on the shoreline beneath distinctive pohutukawa trees at Hauturu – Little Barrier Island bird sanctuary – was an unusual ‘stand-in’ for the birds. The only dog allowed on the island was to help the ranger and sanctuary workers locate the birds. Don Binney was patron of the Hauturu Supporter’s Trust for many years.
