About the Artist
Max Gimblett lives between New York and New Zealand, and is known particularly for abstract paintings employing a distinctive use of gold paint and a quatrefoil device. In recent years he has used a Buddha motif to represent finding a place of tranquility in an increasingly material, commercial world; his series of screenprints employ this device in various ways – no two screenprints are the same.
